While several of his titles reached the finals of the Maine Literary Awards, his unpublished novel, “The War Within,” also received the second-place prize at the International Literary Awards in 1989. Mr. Hardacker attributes much of his success to his consistency and persistence in the field. Though his career as an author has been filledwith numerous memorable moments, he regards his novel, “Wendigo,” ashismost notable achievement. To date, this has been his most successful literary work, and he recently began speaking with a producer to potentially sign over the film rights. To wit, Mr. Hardacker firmly believes that individuals are only as old as they feel and act, and he looks forward to finding further success in his authorial pursuits in the near future. Prior to embarking on his journey as an author, Mr. Hardacker served with the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970 and again from 1972 to 1974. During the time of his service, he fought in Vietnam in 1968 as a helicopter door gunner, and he completed over 100 air missions. In honor of his service, Mr. Hardacker received five medals and a Combat Action Ribbon. After he was honorably discharged from the Marines, Mr. Hardacker pursued a formal education. Over the course of his collegiate studies, he earned an associate degree in electronics from Northern Maine Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in business management from the University of Maine, and a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
