Notably, he is well regarded for his help in maintaining the sustainability of CAAL, where he has created a favorable business environment, fostered excellent government relations and provided training sessions to influence aspiring contractors across the country. Likewise, Mr. Molina is the host of a podcast in relation to labor law, which he hosts every Friday on caalag.org, and has been the commander of the American GI Forum with National Veterans Outreach in Fresno, California, since 2004. He is also a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8900, Big Brother Big Sister of America, AgSafe and SHRM. Looking toward the future, Mr. Molina intends to pass down the torch to the next generation of organization executives. He wishes to continue CAAL for as long as he is able. Gilbert S. Molina commenced his career through the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Kitty Hawk in Vietnam between 1972 and 1975. First hired by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after his departure from the military, he served as a revenue representative in the collections department and as a taxpayer service representative for seven years. During his tenure with the IRS, he discovered that farmworkers could not have federal income tax withheld from their income, thereby introducing him to the field of agricultural labor. As such, he joined the United States Department of Labor, where he served as a regional farm labor specialist and an investigator in the Wage and Hour Division for over two decades. Since 2008, Mr. Molina has excelled as the chief executive officer and president of the California Association of Agricultural Labor (CAAL), for whom he has also sat as chairman of the board since 2016. Alongside this venture, Mr. Molina has served as the founder, owner and labor consultant of the eponymously named Gilbert S. Molina & Associates since 2009.
