Furthermore, she has volunteered at the Stanford Emergency Department (ED) for 12 years, as well as training volunteers in the ED. Ms. Robell attributes her success to her deeply rooted understanding of her purpose in life. She has always hoped to work in a field where her work is significant to others, in addition to herself, and teaching offers many opportunities. She is especially proud of all the positive relationships she has cultivated with her students. To her, success ranges from quantitative measures to internal milestones, to overall resilience, optimism and goal setting with meaning and purpose. Looking forward, Ms. Robell hopes to become even more involved in her school district as an academic leader, mentor of new teachers and host to student teachers. Accumulating over 25 years of teaching experience, Michelle Robell is a dedicated expert in education. Since 2000, she has served mostly as a firstgrade teacher in the Palo Alto Unified School District, where she teaches a wide range of subjects to her students. As an educator, she loves mentoring students in the classroom environment and inspiring a growth mindset. She often finds success in knowing that she has made a positive impact on others. She began her education career in 1998 as a teacher in the Mountain View Whisman School District, where she remained until 2000. Prior to embarking on her education journey, Ms. Robell pursued her own education. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, summa cum laude, at Kent State University, she continued her studies at the University of New Haven, where she achieved a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology in 1991. She then drove from New York to California to start her networking and corporate career journey. In 1991, she applied her master’s degree in the corporate field of executive compensation. After seven years in the corporate world, she chose to pursue her purpose with a career change to education in 1998. Ms. Robell is also a certified teacher.
