142 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION With more than 35 years of experience to his credit, Stephen J. Spencer is a proven expert in the fields of education and technology. Since 2013, he has served as the institutional research and educational studies director for STEM Accelerated Coding, where he specializes in statistical studies and curriculum creation. Additionally, he has operated as the senior customer care representative for Medical Mutual of Ohio since 1993. Mr. Spencer began his career in 1986, working as a store manager for Delaware Audio Video until 1993. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Spencer pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science at The Ohio State University in 1983, a Master of Arts in management from Antioch University Midwest in 1998, and an EdD in higher education and organizational change from Benedictine University in 2015. He also honorably served with the United States Army from 1970 to 1991 and with the Ohio Military Reserves from 2006 to 2009. Attributing much of his success to his versatility and perseverance, Mr. Spencer hopes to return to teaching in the near future. First joining the school system in 1991, she excelled as the director of curriculum and instruction; assistant high school principal; district assessment coordinator; principal of the Thomas County Academy; and iConnect iLearn UNConference organizer and coordinator. She was the assistant special educator director, SEIMC, staff development, curriculum, and gifted education coordinator for the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center between 1974 and 1991. Ms. Wieland holds a BS in elementary education, MS in curriculum and instruction, and gifted certification, all from Kansas State University. After accruing decades of professional excellence, she received an EdS in adult education from Pittsburg State University (Kansas). She also holds a district-level, elementary and secondary principal certification through Fort Hays State University. Recognized for promoting learning and technology integration, she was honored with Kansas Staff Development Council Awards in 1991 and 1998 and the 2009 M. Claradine Johnson Excellence in Education NCA Award. She is a 49-year member of Phi Delta Kappa.
