22 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE With more than four decades of professional experience to her credit, Diane Filippi has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of architecture. For over 35 years, she has served as a managing partner with SMWM. In her leadership role, Ms. Filippi has served the company in a myriad of face-toface interactions and secured numerous contracts with fellow industry consultants. Additionally, Ms. Filippi accrued a wealth of expertise working as the director of the SPUR Urban Center, where she played an instrumental role in bringing the property to life. She currently continues to serve as a benefactor and board member for the organization. Outside of her primary vocational duties, Ms. Filippi also participates as a board member of Mother Jones and the Foundation for National Progress. In her other civic-minded endeavors, she has volunteered on the board of Ed Fun and the San Francisco chapter of the Urban Land Institute. Additionally, she served on the board of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Filippi pursued a formal education, completing collegiate coursework in archeology at the University of the Pacific and at the University of California Berkeley. Well-regarded for her achievements in the field, Ms. Filippi was previously honored as a recipient of several San Francisco Business Times Awards. In light of her accomplishments, she has attributed her success to her talents as a public speaker. Additionally, among her numerous career highlights, she is particularly proud to have assisted in revitalizing the main library of San Francisco and to have served as the chairperson of the board for the Friends of Libraries.
