236 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. BrownBailey is especially proud to have been able to serve in the Navy for two decades. Having always been fascinated with space and stars, she was originally interested in becoming an astronaut, though she subsequently gravitated towards serving with the Navy as they offered her many opportunities to travel across the world and discover new places, which has been among her lifelong dreams. Since retiring, Ms. Brown-Bailey has continued to enjoy traveling worldwide, especially when she is alongside her family and friends. Pamela Katurah Brown-Bailey has cultivated a career of excellence, having honorably served with the United States Navy from 1979 to 1999. Over the course of her military career, she primarily served as a yeoman first class, taking on clerical tasks and maintaining records for commanding officers and ship crews. After retiring from service, she worked with the Raytheon Technical Services Company for seven years. Ms. Brown-Bailey has since retired from professional work. Well regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Brown-Bailey is a decorated veteran, having been honored with several accolades and commendations. To this end, she received the Navy Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, five Good Conduct Awards and a National Defense Service Medal. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Brown-Bailey also pursued a formal education, earning an associate degree in art history from the University of South Carolina at Lancaster.
