276 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS With over 30 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Brian E. Coleman is a leading expert in the health care industry. Specializing in orthopedic care and surgery, particularly for feet and ankles, he has served as the owner and chief medical offer of JFI Medical LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana, since 2019. Additionally, he recently joined HCA Florida Atlantis Orthopedics as an orthopedic surgeon in 2022. Dr. Coleman previously operated in similar roles at South Palm Orthopedics in Delray Beach, Florida, from 2011 to 2021 and at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Institute in Indiana from 2006 to 2010. He originally began his career in 1992, working in The Orthopedic Centers in Merrillville, Indiana, until 2006. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Coleman cultivated his own education, beginning with his time at the University of Dayton, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics in 1981. He subsequently continued his studies at the Indiana University School of Medicine and received an MD in 1985. Following his graduation, Dr. Coleman completed an internship at the Howard University Hospital between 1985 and 1991 and a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. As part of his dedication to his profession, Dr. Coleman remains affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the National Medical Association, and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. He is also committed to civic advocacy, regularly serving as a mentor for 100 Black Men of America Inc., and as the president of the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Dr. Coleman was previously recognized as the Top Physician in Palm Beach County. Attributing much of his success to his upbringing, which created a foundation for his team and family-oriented approach, he is especially proud to be the first African American to complete a total ankle replacement procedure in 1998. In the coming years, Dr. Coleman hopes to expand his role as an educator and administrator in the field. BRIAN E.
