Since 1996, she has operated as the chief executive officer of Design Studio LLC, an independent studio headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, where she specializes in designing private and personal homes and commercial spaces. As part of her duties, Ms. Utley actively focuses on the market in Las Vegas, Nevada, specifically condominiums for senior citizens. In addition to her primary position, Ms. Utley previously worked with Freddie Mac in strategic procurement and contracts between 2014 and 2015. Likewise, she was a strategic account manager for Cisco Systems from 2000 to 2006 and a federal contracts and business operations manager for Microsoft from 1995 to 2000. Ms. Utley originally began her career in 1986, working as the director of contracts for Northrop Grumman until 1995. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Utley pursued a formal education. After earning a Bachelor of Science in interior design at West Virginia University, she subsequently achieved a Master of Business Administration at Johns Hopkins University in 2001. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Utley also holds a universal design certification and a staging certification. Well regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Utley has been honored with several accolades and honors over the course of her career, including a Woman of Distinction Award in 2021. She was also named Best Interior Designer of the Year in 2013, 2017 and 2020. Attributing much of her success to her honest personality, she is especially proud to be able to help her clients and make them happy.
