272 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Before embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Casta pursued a formal education, beginning with her time at Purdue University, where she earned a degree in pre-medicine in 2007. She subsequently continued her studies at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where she achieved an MD in 2011. She later completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2014 and a fellowship in sports medicine at Boston University in 2015. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. Casta is board certified in family medicine. Over the course of her career, Dr. Casta has largely attributed her success to her perseverance, as well as the love and support of her family. She aspired to become a doctor since she was in third grade, and her parents were highly supportive of her goals. In the coming years, Dr. Casta hopes to continue expanding her medical practice. Having accrued over a decade of experience, Dr. Annie Casta is a proven leader in the health care industry. Since 2020, she has operated as the owner of CIMA Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Specializing in sports and family medicine, she has served the center as a physician and medical director since 2016. Adjacent to her primary responsibilities, Dr. Casta remains active as a physician for the USA Judo Team, which she joined in 2015. Dr. Casta previously worked as a primary care sports medicine physician for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital from 2015 to 2020 and a physician with Concentra Urgent Care from 2013 to 2018. As part of her dedication to her profession, she maintains membership with several industry-related organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Practitioners (AAFP). Well regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Dr. Casta has been honored as a Gates Millennium Scholar and participated in the Minority Scholarship Program for Medical Students from the AAFP.
