Focusing her practice on family law, real estate and civil litigation, she has operated as an associate attorney with Whitaker & Hamer PLLC since 2019. Prior to her current appointment, she served in several other legal positions, including as a document review attorney at Dauntless Discovery in 2019 and as a law clerk with Triangle Law Group between 2018 and 2019. Ms. Scruggs-Smith began her law journey in 2015 as a legal intern with Alpha Legal. Before embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Scruggs-Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2015 and a JD in 2018, both from Campbell University. In addition to her academic credentials, she is also a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Capital City Lawyers Association. Ms. ScruggsSmith attributes much of her success to the love and support of her mother.
