126 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Excelling as a mathematics teacher with Lake View High School within the San Angelo Independent School District in Texas, Saundra Paschal is recognized for her aptitude in teaching such subjects as honors algebra II and pre-calculus to juniors and seniors within the high school system. During her tenure at Lake View High School, she has also served as the mathematics team coach and was the coordinator for the University Interscholastic League. Likewise, she has leveraged her photography talents to assist in photographing school sporting events, as well as her writing abilities to the curriculum writing team. Alongside her academic endeavors, Ms. Paschal was an advisor and reviewer of algebra II books with Henry Holt & Company, a subsidiary of Macmillan Publishers. Civically engaged as well, she has participated in charitable efforts and with her local church, serving as a church organist. She has also maintained professional affiliation with the Texas Math and Sciences Coaches Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Paschal served as a teacher’s aide from 1973 to 1980. During this time, she discovered her talent for teaching students and derived great joy from seeing her students succeed. Driven by this discovery, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Angelo State University in 1980. As a testament to her success, Ms. Paschal has been honored with several accolades. Twice receiving the Teacher of the Year Award in 2000 and 2014, she was also featured in the Top 12 Educators of the Year Calendar and named VIP of the Year in 2010. Additionally, she was recognized as an Elite American Educator in 2011 and, in 2012, was recognized with the Worldwide Lifetime Achievement Award and as a Top Female Professional of the Year. The International Association of Top Professionals (IATP) named her a Top Educator of the Year, and she received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and Distinguished Humanitarian Award in 2017.
