As a dedicated servant to the institution, Mr. Ledford maintained the position of deputy director of training from 1978 until retiring in 1980. Following his military service, Mr. Ledford pursued a formal education, with the support and financial aid granted to him by the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, commonly known as the G.I. Bill. Over the course of his collegiate studies, he completed coursework at South Georgia State College and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He subsequently earned a master’s degree at Georgia Southern University. Mr. Ledford continued his studies at the University of Georgia, where he received a Specialist in Education degree. In addition to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Ledford also remained active as a civic-minded citizen, volunteering with the American Legion, Lions Clubs International and the Hephzibah Town Council in Georgia. In light of his accomplished career, he is especially proud to have operated as an advisor to the admirals in The Pentagon on matters pertaining to the education of United States Army recruits. In honor of his distinguished service, Mr. Ledford received 17 Annual Superior Performance Awards from the Fort Gordon Signal School. Having accrued more than three decades of professional experience, Larry G. Ledford has cultivated a fulfilling career serving in the United States military. A veteran of World War II, he honorably served in the United States Army for two years as a corporal, where he was stationed in the Philippines and Korea. Following LARRY G.
