As part of his dedication to his profession, Dr. Bologna remains affiliated with several industryrelated organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and the American Medical Association. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, he was previously honored among America’s Best Physicians in Cardiac Surgery by the National Consumer Advisory Board in 2015. He was also recognized by the American Board of Cardiology with an Award of Excellence in Cardiac Surgery in 2012. Attributing much of his success to his driven mentality and the support of his parents, Dr. Bologna hopes to continue learning innovative technologies and adapting to new challenges in his field. Having accrued 25 years of experience, Dr. Marco T. Bologna is a proven expert in the health care industry. Specializing in cardiac surgery, he has been a cardiac surgeon at Baptist Health South Florida since 2012. Originally from Venezuela, he is also a member of the board of the Venezuelan American Medical Association. Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Bologna completed a postdoctoral fellowship in complex aortic surgery within the department of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine between 2006 and 2007. Dr. Bologna began his vocational journey by earning an MD at the Central University of Venezuela in 1995. He subsequently completed a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine between 1997 and 1998 and a residency in surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine from 1997 to 2003.
