She subsequently continued her studies at the Michigan School of Psychology, earning a Master of Arts in clinical psychology. After becoming a licensed psychologist in 2002, Dr. Leno achieved a PhD at Saybrook University in 2007. While she was initially interested in a career as a lawyer, Dr. Leno turned to psychology because of her interest in mental health and understanding why individuals do the things they do. In light of her fulfilling career, she attributes much of her success to her selfawareness, which has enabled her to recognize her strengths and weaknesses and adequately take care of herself. In the coming years, Dr. Leno hopes to continue helping others understand mental health and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health conditions. With 20 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Michele Leno has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of psychology. Specializing in mental health care, she is the owner of DML Psychological Services PLLC, which she founded in 2010. As a licensed psychologist, she assists patients and clients by teaching them techniques for managing depression and anxiety, supervising in-house clinicians and collaborating with other organizations. Dr. Leno also remains affiliated with the American Psychological Association, Psychology Today and the National Association of Women Business Owners. Adjacent to her responsibilities as a psychologist, Dr. Leno is also an accomplished television host, with her show “Mind Matters with Dr. Michele” regularly airing on TV20 Detroit and Fox47 Lansing. The show primarily focuses on matters related to mental health. Well regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Dr. Leno previously received an award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness for making a positive difference in her community. DR.
