Dr. Patel originally began his career in 1976, honorably serving with the United States Navy Medical Corps until 1998, at which point he retired at the rank of captain. Of his many vocational duties, Dr. Patel’s primary focus is the Sevak Foundation. As part of the organization’s ongoing project, they provide health care services and assist in chronic disease prevention and management in rural regions around the world. They also aim to introduce stronger health education and sanitation conditions in such communities by spreading awareness and tutoring young students. Much of Dr. Patel’s duties involve seeking donations, developing policies and implementing new initiatives. Dr. Patel’s performance in the field was born from his academic journey. To this end, he holds several degrees, including a bachelor’s degree from Sherwood College and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Medical College, Baroda. Dr. Patel achieved an MD at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University in 1976 after completing an internship and a fellowship in nephrology at the institution. Over the course of his career, Dr. Patel has attributed much of his success to the skills he acquired in policy making while serving with the Navy. He is especially proud to have offered his foundation’s services to approximately 120 different villages across four states in India. In the coming years, Dr. Patel hopes to develop a self-sustaining model for his organization as part of its ongoing expansion and improvement. With over 45 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Thakor G. Patel is a proven expert in the health care industry. Specializing in internal medicine and nephrology, he has operated as the chief executive officer of Russ & Associate LLC since 2022 and the chairman of the Sevak Foundation Inc., since 2012.
