193 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS With over a decade of professional experience to his credit, Emmanuel “Manny” Mejia has cultivated a career of excellence as a culinary expert. Since 2014, he has served as the owner and chef at Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club in Chicago. With a proclivity for breakfast foods, he specializes in putting a creative spin on classic sweet and savory dishes that customers have grown to love. Adjacent to his primary business venture, Mr. Mejia is the owner and chef of Big Hill, his afternoon and evening restaurant and bar. From a young age, Mr. Mejia naturally gravitated toward a career in the culinary arts. Therefore, he diligently trained himself and honed his craft. Over the course of his career, he has worked in Korean and Jewish restaurants in Chicago, learning the ropes of his trade and rising through the ranks. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Mejia has been featured on Chicago’s Best and in the Chicago Tribune, and he was honored with the City of Chicago Award by the mayor in 2019. As part of his dedication to his professional endeavors, Mr. Mejia remains affiliated with his local Chamber of Commerce. Outside of his work as a chef, he is also committed to civic advocacy, regularly participating in community activities and charities to support local universities and school districts. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Mejia attributes much of his success to his focused work ethic and the support of his staff. He is especially proud to have operated as a business owner for as long as he has, especially at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the coming years, Mr. Mejia hopes to continue growing and managing his business ventures and supporting his family.
