In the last 30 years, he worked with persons in and out of prisons as a counselor, and then 27 years as a New York State parole officer, supervisor and prosecutor. He went on to be a union leader and chair of the local NYS Employee Assistance Program. In 2022, he took ownership of Get-A-Life LLC, where he counsels and motivates individuals as a life coach. He remains the president of the New York State Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 027. Early in his career, Mr. Perez dabbled in filmmaking and was made associate producer for the documentary “Cubans across the Hudson,” which aired on WABC in New York. In other creative endeavors, he created and continues to market Tio Tony’s Classic Coquito, his personally-owned cocktail, and was given an award from the International Coquito Masters Manhattan in 2014. He attributes his success to the support and encouragement of his deceased wife, Betsy, and his sons, Daniel and Adam. He hopes to continue guiding and motivating others to live their dreams. Leveraging her formative desire to defend the sanctity of law and civil rights, Crystal Grace Rutherford initially obtained a BS in psychology from the University of Washington, where she was exposed to the study of brain injuries. Pivoting her career toward law, she then earned a JD from the University of Oregon School of Law with the aim to represent clients who experience serious injuries due to the negligence of others. Since 2017, she has excelled as the principal attorney of Excelsior Law PLLC in Seattle. Earlier in her career, Ms. Rutherford served as an associate attorney with David Vogel PLLC and with Badgley Mullins PLLC shortly after being admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1997. In light of her exceptional undertakings, she was bestowed with a Special Appreciation Award from the civil rights section of the Washington State Trial Lawyers in 2003. However, she cites the most significant moment of her career has been establishing a legal team that succeeded in challenging a multinational corporation that caused injury and death to a Washington family.
