385 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT Born in Chicago, Moishe Goldzweig presently resides in Brooklyn, New York. After accruing a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, where he worked in restaurants, he decided to further his career and become a scribe. A scribe is recognized as an individual who copies documents, particularly in a religious environment. As a religious scribe for Mobile Sofer since 2002, Mr. Goldzweig maintains responsibility for copying religious documents and texts in the Jewish faith. He also goes by appointment to homes and offices to inspect and restore Mezuzahs, serving as an excellent record-keeper and a professional theologian. He attributes much of his success to his ability to quickly understand what his mentors have taught him, as well as extensive bouts of practice. Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Goldzweig is especially proud of writing a megillah, the Book of Esther that tells the story of the Purim holiday, also known as a long, detailed account in a biblical context that translates to “scroll” in Hebrew. To date, he has written approximately 20 megillahs during his career. Outside of his professional duties, Mr. Goldzweig also maintains membership with Synagogue Agudath Achim, Yormat and Torah U’TeFilah, where he volunteers as a public Torah reader. Drawing upon his abiding faith, Mr. Goldzweig advises prospective professionals in his areas of expertise to exhibit patience when learning how to scribe properly. He recalls feeling frustrated while beginning his journey in light of the mistakes he made early on. However, after much encouragement from his brother, Mr. Goldzweig continued to practice and focus intently on his objectives until becoming the talented religious scribe he is recognized as today. Mr. Goldzweig intends to continue witnessing the success of his career and improving upon his existing skill set. Ultimately, he would like to become more knowledgeable in the Torah to deepen his religious faith and provide others with his expertise on a variety of projects. Married to his wife Toby, Mr. Goldzweig has four children: Malka, Raizy, Ahron and Israel. To have Mezuzahs or Te’Filin inspected or restored, contact Mr. Goldzweig at 646-300-5671.
