Jackson Jr. has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of youth mentorship. Since 2007, he has operated as the owner and executive director of Fence at the Top in Rohnert Park, California. The registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is dedicated to the development and mentoring of at-risk youths in Sonoma County, California. With a proactive approach, Mr. Jackson oversees all aspects of the business, including tutorial programs, college workshops, bible studies, fundraising events and travel excursions. Prior to committing himself to youth development, Mr. Jackson excelled as a professional footballer. He initially gained a wealth of credibility as a player at the University of the Pacific, where he studied and earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology in 1972. Mr. Jackson subsequently joined the National Football League, playing as a defensive back for the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. During his time on the field, he was well-noted for his talent as an interceptor. He retired from the league in 1975 when he was 27 years old. Mr. Jackson continues to remain affiliated with the National Football League Alumni Association. Well regarded for his professional accomplishments, Mr. Jackson has been honored with numerous accolades over the course of his career. To this end, his business has been nominated for county awards on several occasions, and he is a two-time recipient of the Longs’ Diamond Award. Furthermore, Mr. Jackson has been inducted into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame, the Marin Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame and the Marin Sports Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson has largely attributed his success to his mother, who served as an immensely positive influence and a constant source of inspiration. In accounting for his numerous achievements, he is especially proud of the many youths who have traversed through his program and became successful adults. In the coming years, Mr. Jackson hopes to continue expanding his organization by purchasing new properties and extending its outreach to more at-risk youths.
