Zeleny has served as the operator of the Oakland Meat Processing Plant in Oakland, Nebraska, since 2013. The company was initially purchased by her father-in-law nearly 30 years ago, and Ms. Zeleny is notable for her hands-on approach to conducting business. Presently, they are working towards obtaining an additional building to expedite business processes and attain higher revenue. To this end, Ms. Zeleny has been often revered for her leadership skills with both clients and colleagues and her drive to succeed. Earlier in her career, Ms. Zeleny received certification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and worked as a CNA and a medical aide for three years. Outside of her primary work responsibilities, she is a volunteer coach for high school women’s wrestling and youth wrestling. She cites her duties as a coach and her involvement in sports are among the highlights of her career, as her husband and children are also wrestlers in their spare time. Ms. Zeleny attributes much of her success to her diligent work ethic and passion for her job. She advises that when new employees are introduced to the company, she remains honest and true to her word, particularly when describing job requirements and what the new employee will be facing in the field. Additionally, she takes great pride in her hard-working attitude and when colleagues recognize her efforts in instilling the value of hard work. As a testament to her success, Ms. Zeleny was featured in the Omaha Newspaper and, in 2021, she was nominated for Person of the Year. Looking toward the future, she intends to expand their new location and continue growing the company. In her free time, she enjoys fishing and watching demolition derbies.
