262 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Having accrued over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Ziad Afif Abbud is a proven expert in the health care industry. In 2002, he founded the American Heart Center, P.C., his own medical practice located in Neptune, New Jersey, where he specializes as an interventional cardiologist. As the senior cardiologist at the medical center, Dr. Abbud provides clinical care to a myriad of patients dealing with various cardiac and cardiovascular issues, in addition to assisting his colleagues with interventional work. Adjacent to his primary duties, Dr. Abbud continues to serve as a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials and publish his own research in well-respected journals each year. He previously garnered a wealth of experience working with medical programs, such as the angioplasty program at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center and a critical care medicine fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Furthermore, Dr. Abbud was the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Bayshore Community Hospital, as part of Hackensack Meridian Health. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Abbud pursued a formal education. Originally from Lebanon, he studied at the American University of Beirut, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1987 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1991. In addition to his academic credentials, he is also board certified in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. To remain abreast of developments within his industry, Dr. Abbud also remains affiliated with the American College of Cardiology Foundation. Having been nationally recognized as a knowledgeable lecturer in his field, Dr. Abbud largely attributes his success to the love and support of his wife, family and colleagues. In light of his accomplishments, he is especially proud to have established his own practice and maintained it for over 20 years.
