Over the course of his fulfilling career, Mr. Chua has largely attributed his success to his strong educational background. Having always been interested in the health care industry, he originally intended to pursue a career as a doctor. However, when he found he could not attend medical school, he gravitated just as naturally to working as a nurse. In accounting for his numerous accomplishments, Mr. Chua is especially proud to have worked with surgical telemetry for many years and to have served as a nursing supervisor. Looking toward the future, he intends to experience the continued success of his career. Possessing more than 30 years of experience, Bryant “Panda” Chua is a proven expert in the field of nursing. Since 2019, he has served as a secondlevel corrections nurse for the Illinois Department of Corrections. Prior to his current position, he operated in a similar nursing role with the Lake County Department of Corrections for three years. Specializing in surgical and correctional medicine, Mr. Chua also previously worked with the committee of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses to develop outcomebased competency evaluations for medicalsurgical nurses in 2019 and 2020. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Chua pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Loyola University Chicago. In addition to his academic credentials, he became a fully certified medicalsurgical registered nurse in 2012. Outside of his primary profession, he previously taught Sunday School kindergarten courses for four years.
