After earning a Bachelor of Arts in biology at West Virginia University, he subsequently achieved an MD at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine in Greece in 1974. Well regarded for his academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Vozos has been honored with numerous accolades over the course of his career, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from MMC and a Distinguished Service Award from the New Jersey Hospital Association in 2021. In light of his fulfilling career, Dr. Vozos attributes much of his success to his dedication to learning and the hard work of his residents, who always pushed him forward and served as a source of inspiration. As part of his retirement, he enjoys spending his time with his wife Nancy, daughter and grandchildren, and he hopes to continue aiding them in pursuing their own careers. With four decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Frank J. Vozos is a proven leader in the health care industry. Prior to retiring in 2020, he served as the president and chief executive officer of Monmouth Medical Center (MMC), RWJBarnabas Health. He originally joined MMC in 1975 as part of a five-year residency program in general surgery. Over the course of his career with the organization, Dr. Vozos operated in several notable positions, including as the president of the medical and dental staff. To note, he is the second physician in New Jersey to take on a top hospital leadership role. As part of his professional endeavors, Dr. Vozos has been a staunch leader in the growth of MMC, serving as a mentor for new residents and students and expanding their medical services. He notably focused on providing further cancer services, establishing the Leon Hess Cancer Center, the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center and the Cheryl L. Diamond Cancer Care Pavilion. As part of his dedication to his profession, Dr. Vozos also remains affiliated with the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the American Medical Association.
