326 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS A licensed certified social worker and board-certified diplomate in clinical social work, Patricia Hanes Meyer commenced her career by obtaining a BA from Carroll College in 1969. She achieved an MSW from the Catholic University of America in 1976. Since obtaining her master’s degree, Ms. Meyer has served as a mental health practitioner and licensed clinical social worker in her own practice in Herndon, Virginia, now located in North Carolina. Working with individuals and families, she utilizes the Bowen Family Systems Theory to provide knowledge to clients regarding their family history and their emotional/behavioral patterns, creating an opportunity for them to lead a more fulfilling life. Earlier, Ms. Meyer served as the director of family therapy and a consultant for the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, a consultant for the Fairfax County Crossroads Drug Abuse Program, and a clinical instructor in the department of psychiatry at the Georgetown University Family Center. Regarded for her scholarly output, Ms. Meyer was an advisory editor for The Family: A Journal of Family Systems, Theory and Practice between 1977 and 1984. She was dedicated to her career while raising three children. Now drawing upon nearly 20 years of expertise in the field of health care, she maintains active membership with the New York State Nursing Association. To this end, Ms. Myrovych attributes much of her success in the field to the support and encouragement of her family, as well as her status as an excellent student. Among the myriad of career highlights to her credit, she is especially proud of performing post-operative care and pain management. She advises that much of her treatment is in the form of physical therapy, which she finds greatly rewarding. To prepare for her career, Ms. Myrovych pursued a formal education at Kingsborough Community College, graduating with honors with an associate degree in nursing. She also attended Ukraine State University and received a master’s degree in mathematics, with honors. Alongside these academic credentials, she enrolled in the Ukrainian National Medical Academies and obtained a master’s degree in nursing. Looking toward the future, Ms. Myrovych intends to witness the continued success of her nursing career.
