To wit, she has received several commendations and accolades for her accomplishments in the field, having been named Top Dog Trainer by Albuquerque Magazine in 2017, 2020 and 2021. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Lombardo remains affiliated with the Pet Professional Guild and The Association of Professional Dog Trainers. In addition to her primary endeavors as a dog trainer, Ms. Lombardo previously operated in media relations for the athletic department at the University of New Mexico. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, she pursued a formal education, beginning with her time at New Mexico State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in international business in 1988. She subsequently continued her studies at the University of New Mexico, where she achieved a Master of Science in athletic administration in 1993. Additionally, she achieved a certificate in applied animal behavior from the University of Washington in 2021. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Lombardo has also been recognized as a certified training partner by the Karen Pryor Academy. Ms. Lombardo happily moved away from a career in the corporate environment to pursue her dreams of being a dog trainer. To this end, she is especially proud to have trained in her field alongside her first dog, Ivan, a mixedbreed Siberian husky and Australian cattle dog whom she rescued when she was 48 years old. Reflecting on her fulfilling career, she attributes much of her success to her determination and dedication. In the near future, Ms. Lombardo plans to write a book in relation to dog training, and she hopes to continue inspiring others to pursue their dreams. Georgette M. Lombardo has dedicated herself to pet training and care. Since 2015, she has operated as the owner and founder of Pawsitive Training ABQ, a dog training company located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
