Ms. Miller originally worked with the school district as a biology teacher between 1997 and 1999, and she served in pharmaceutical sales for GK plc from 1999 to 2002. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Miller cultivated her own formal education, beginning with her time at Tennessee State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1995. She subsequently continued her studies at Rhodes College, receiving education licensure in secondary education and teaching in 1998. Afterward, she concluded her collegiate career at the Florida Institute of Technology, achieving an MBA in project management in 2011. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Miller holds several field-related certifications, including in construction safety and health and as a professional consultant. Adjacent to her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Miller remains active as a civicminded citizen. To this end, she has participated with Jack & Jill of America Inc., since 2012 and with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., since 1993. Over the course of her fulfilling career, she has largely attributed her success to her selfawareness and skills in compartmentalization. In accounting for her accomplishments, she is especially proud of her extensive work in improving the City of Memphis’ service institutions, and she looks forward to continuing this work for many years to come. Furthermore, Ms. Miller hopes to take on more leadership roles in the near future so that she may further improve the lives of the citizens of her city. With 25 years of professional experience, Lori L. Miller has cultivated a career of excellence in the utility industry.
