Having learned to cook at an early age alongside his parents, a career in the food and beverage industry came naturally to him. Since 2017, he has operated as the owner and chef at Leonardo’s Trattoria & Pizzeria in Mandeville, Louisiana. Specializing in crafting fine Italian dishes, Mr. Giarraputo’s restaurant means the world to him, and it embodies everything he has always aimed to achieve over the course of his career. Prior to owning his restaurant in Louisiana, Mr. Giarraputo found a wealth of success as a star chef in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, from 1998 to 2001. He also previously served as the food and beverage director for two hotels in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, for two years. Throughout his time in Florida, he operated as the owner and chef at six different restaurants. Furthermore, Mr. Giarraputo prepared food for the Grammy Awards ceremony in 2019, and he participated in the World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Florida, in 2018. To commemorate Mr. Giarraputo’s culinary accomplishments, Leonardo’s Trattoria & Pizzeria was voted Northshore’s Best New Restaurant in 2017, Northshore’s Best Bang for Buck in 2018 and 2021, and Northshore’s Best Italian Restaurant in 2018, 2020 and 2021. Mr. Giarraputo attributes much of his success to his kind personality, treating each of his customers like family. To this end, he loves building relationships with individuals in his community, and he is grateful to all of them for helping him keep his business afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is especially proud to be an active contributor and friend to the citizens of Mandeville, Louisiana, and he looks forward to finding further success in the coming years.
