In addition, her work “Rendezvous with Destiny,” dedicated to the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, currently hangs in the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville. Earlier, Ms. Griffey received a BA in art education and English, followed by a master’s degree in education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Shortly after receiving her advanced degrees, she entered the field of education as a teacher, having worked in academia for over 30 years until her retirement from education in 2007. She is a member of the Retired Teachers Association in light of her work in the field. Civically minded as well, Ms. Griffey is a member of ABUN and has donated her artwork to her local Rotary Club, American Cancer Society and other non-profits. Looking toward the future, she intends to further hone her skills as an artist. Well regarded for her diversified career paths with art, authorship and education, Lynne Waters Griffey has excelled as a talented and successful artist for over 15 years. She was recently chosen in both Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of Professional Women. Presently, she serves as an artist for her own business, Lynne Griffey Art and Tutoring, in Clarksville, Tennessee, where she also tutors students in art, reading, and English. She creates multifaceted paintings, portraits and prints of her work, both independently and on commission. Examples of commissioned work include paintings of homes, family members, pet portraits, landscapes and nature, among others. Likewise, she is an author who penned the book “Stillness of Spirit,” which is a compilation of reflective writings that she has accompanied with a variety of paintings and was published in 2016. Ms. Griffey advised that her book is the embodiment of her spiritual journey across her life, as well as a showcase of her work. For her success as a writer, Ms. Griffey’s book was recommended and endorsed for the Eric Hoffer Book Award in the art category by LitFire Publishing LLC.
