Between 2013 and 2021, she served as a distinguished Clinical Medical Librarian for the Icahn Mount Sinai School of Medicine and then Weill Cornell Medicine. In addition to publishing 13 scientific articles, she edited and co-authored “The Clinical Medical Librarian’s Handbook.” On a more playful front, Ms. Stribling has planned and hosted numerous themed parties and events and, starting in 1994, compiled delightful and unique music playlists. The most widely distributed was her annual Christmas compilation, copies of which friends throughout the world tell her they eagerly await and covet once received. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Stribling earned both a BS and an MA in history from the University of Southern Mississippi. She continued her education at the Pratt Institute, where she achieved a Master of Library Science in 2007. As part of her dedication to her vocational endeavors, she remains affiliated with the Institute for International Health and the National Medical Library Association, the latter of which named her the Consumer Health Librarian of the Year in 2019. A naturally creative individual, Ms. Stribling gravitated toward a career that allowed her to leverage her inventive skillset. Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the medical librarian field, she has also been recognized with the Health Information Outreach Award from the Network of the National Library of Medicine. She is especially proud of her research work, which has helped educate and empower consumers when making crucial decisions in relation to health care. In the coming years, Ms. Stribling looks forward to freelance editing and embarking on a new career in real estate. She likes to have many plates in the air; if there is just one plate spinning, she may decide to break it. Judy C. Stribling cultivated a career of excellence as a librarian, writer and editor between 1992 and 2022. Since 1992, she served in several positions, including as project manager for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, assistant at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, project archivist and writer for Lenox Hill Hospital, archivist for Gleason’s JUDY C.
