He specializes in business and product development, sales, marketing and communications. Since 2017, he has served as the director of inside business development at Cox Automotive Inc., in Texas. In this role, Mr. Johnson coaches and develops the skills of sales team leaders located across the country, ensuring that they remain adaptable to an ever-changing market and that they are training their employees in the most effective sales practices. Mr. Johnson accrued a wealth of entrepreneurial experience as a teenager, managing several small business endeavors in areas such as lawn mowing and car washing. Prior to his current appointment, he operated as the senior manager for business markets at T-Mobile USA Inc., in Frisco, Texas, from 2014 to 2017. He also worked extensively with Douglass Media Group as a regional market manager between 2008 and 2009 and as a regional sales director from 2009 to 2014. Mr. Johnson formally began his career in the early 1990s as an individual contributor in sales, marketing and advertising with several local companies. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Johnson completed college coursework in business management at Arizona State University and in marketing and advertising at The University of Texas at Arlington. Furthermore, in 2012, he earned his certification as an Innermetrix analyst from Innermetrix Inc. Well regarded for his accomplishments in the field, he has been honored with several accolades and honors over the course of his career, including a Spotlight Award from Douglass Media Group in 2008 and the President’s Club Award from Cox Automotive Inc., in 2019. Attributing much of his success to his empathy and integrity, Mr. Johnson hopes to continue expanding his business interests and helping others to develop their skills in the coming years.
