215 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE With over 60 years of experience to his credit, Jeffrey Laikind has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of corporate administration. Though he is mostly retired from professional work, he continues to serve as the corporate director of Hapoalim Securities USA and Darien Rowayton Bank, which he joined in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Mr. Laikind also operates as the president of Friends of Cornell University Squash (FOCUS), a group that oversees activities for Cornell alumni. Mr. Laikind has held numerous administrative roles over the course of his career, including as a partner and board member for the PepsiCo franchise in Romania for 14 years and as a mutual fund director for RiverSource Life Insurance Company from 2003 to 2010. He has also held several other corporate director roles for companies such as Progressive Casualty Insurance Company from 1987 to 2012 and Hanover Direct Inc., in 1987. Mr. Laikind began his career as the assistant treasurer for the Marine Midland Trust Co. from 1958 to 1962 after serving with the United States Army between 1957 and 1958. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Laikind pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1957. He subsequently continued his studies at New York University and achieved a Master of Business Administration in 1962. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Laikind also earned a chartered financial analyst certification in 1967. He remains affiliated with the College Squash Association and the Choate Rosemary Hall Alumni Association. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Laikind has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career, including a Distinguished Service Award from Choate Rosemary Hall in 2015. Over the course of his career, he has largely attributed his success to his adaptability and a modicum of luck. Mr. Laikind is especially proud to have co-founded Street Squash, a children’s program in Harlem.
