When she was young, Ms. Albin fell ill on a frequent basis, and she was influenced by the nurses who presided over her care after enduring surgery. While being influenced by her family heritage, Ms. Albin was also inspired by the nurses who tended to her needs while she was recovering from surgery. Since that time, she aspired to become a pediatric nurse to take care of children who are enduring similar conditions. She now works in the intensive care unit of the children’s hospital. As a testament to her success, Ms. Albin was named the Resident Assistant of the Year at SUNY Brockport from 2014 to 2016. Outside of her primary career efforts, she was a pediatric critical care coordinator for her local Ambulance Corps. Looking forward, she intends to complete a master’s degree program at Dominican University to become a family nurse practitioner.
