277 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Revered for his expertise in health care administration, Dr. Robert E. Falcone has excelled as the chief executive officer of the Columbus Medical Association and Affiliates since 2016. In his prominent position, he has pioneered initiatives to improve patient wellness via their physician network, as well as within the community of Columbus, Ohio. He draws upon over 50 years of experience in medicine, having formerly served as vice president of clinical policy and population health for the Ohio Hospital Association, chief of staff at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center and the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, and acting chief of staff at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. Likewise, Dr. Falcone served as president and chief operating officer of the Grant Medical Center and established the Central Ohio Trauma System (COTS) – a feat that he considers a highlight of his career. To prepare for his career, Dr. Falcone received a BA in chemistry, magna cum laude, from Kent State University in 1973, followed by an MD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1976. Thereafter, he completed an internship and surgical residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in 1981, having then held various clinical positions in the fields of trauma and surgical critical care. Notably, Dr. Falcone has authored 91 peer-reviewed publications and 35 books, book chapters and monographs. He has also lent his expertise to over 150 national and international presentations in relation to trauma and critical care. Impressively, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Society of Critical Care Medicine, having formerly served as president of the COTS’ board of trustees. For his successes, he received the James Fairchild Baldwin Award from the Grant Medical Center, Lifetime Achievement Award from The Ohio State University and Distinguished Physician Award from the Air Medical Physician Association. Outside of his primary vocation, Dr. Falcone is a prolific artist and recording musician, having started his artistic career in the 1960s. He has since produced several albums and earned an MFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2016. ROBERT E.
