293 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Having accumulated more than three decades of experience, Dr. Jeanette McDowell is a proven leader in the fields of psychology and education. For the majority of her career, she has operated as a psychologist at her own private practice in Wyoming, Michigan, where she meets with patients daily and dedicates her services to those with disabilities or individuals who cannot afford counseling. She also regularly visits third-world countries to work with like-minded nurses and doctors. In addition to her primary position, Dr. McDowell has also served as a professor in the PhD department at Andrews University and as a school principal and psychologist. Before embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. McDowell pursued her own formal education. She began her studies at the University of the Southern Caribbean, earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She subsequently continued her studies and achieved a master’s degree in educational and developmental psychology and a PhD in counseling psychology. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. McDowell also remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Dr. McDowell naturally gravitated towards a career in psychology and education, having always been passionate about helping others. In light of her fulfilling career, she attributes much of her success to her late father, who was a constant source of inspiration and support. He often reminded her of a vital lesson: “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.” Throughout her career, she has been especially proud to have achieved all she has based on her own wit and drive. In the coming years, Dr. McDowell hopes to have written several books and to be traveling and conducting presentations around the world.
