17 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Supported by over four decades of experience in real estate, finance and construction, Larry Tyrone Burrus has served as the chief executive officer for the Burrus Financial Group and as a licensed contractor for the Burrus Engineering and Building Company since 1987. The same year, he launched the Burrus Real Estate Company and Credit World Mortgage Company. In 2002, he formed the Burrus Investment Group, a real estate acquisition company. Additionally, the Burrus Insurance Agency has worked with New York Life, Jackson National Life and Metropolitan Life Insurance. Mr. Burrus recently retired as a real estate broker after 30 years of service in 2017. In 2010, Mr. Burrus was elected to the executive board of SEIU-United Healthcare Workers Union for the West Coast. In 2013, he helped organize SEIU members in the fight for hospital contracts throughout California. Mr. Burrus is also an established developer and home builder, and he is especially proud of his involvement with the community of Southwest Fresno. Likewise, he is grateful for their support in lobbying city leaders to support the development of the Kearney Palm Shopping Center in Southwest Fresno. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Burrus is the founder and member of the African Family Resource Information Center in America (A.F.R.I.C.A.), as part of the Burrus Financial Group of Companies. The organization provides after-school tutoring programs for children, informational resources for families, and training skills for adults. Mr. Burrus trains individuals in electrical, plumbing, framing, roofing, and air and heating systems to prepare them for state licensure examinations. Additionally, he is the founder of the Black Contractors Association of California/Fresno and a member of the A.C.L.U., the San Joaquin Valley Democratic Party and the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Burrus proudly served as the contractor who built Vision View Partners Membership Hall and the Golden Palace Banquet Hall. Likewise, he is well-regarded for the construction of new churches in the city of Fresno and the remodeling and reconstruction of older churches.
