Prior to becoming a business owner, Dr. Smith worked in several other leadership and consultation positions. In addition to serving as the director of school counseling for a private high school in Virginia, she was also a professor teaching organizational development and an academic and career counselor at the University of Mary Washington, Millersville University and Southeastern University. Dr. Smith also maintains her membership with several pertinent organizations, including the National Career Development Association, American School Counselor Association and the Organizational Development Network. Adjacent to her primary duties, Dr. Smith remains active as a volunteer consultant for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, Inc. Before embarking on her vocational journey, she pursued her own formal education, earning a Bachelor of Science at Bowie State University in 1984. Having begun her career, she subsequently achieved an MEd in counselor education at Millersville University in 1994 and an EdD at Argosy University in 2006. Attributing much of her success to her dedication to her profession and her timely nature as a worker, Dr. Smith is especially proud to have authored and published her book, “The Power of Parent Involvement in the College Planning Process: A Guidebook to Help Parents and Students Approach the College Planning Process Efficiently and Productively Together,” in 2015. In the coming years, she hopes to continue growing her business by providing consultation services dedicated to shaping the future of employee development. Leveraging several decades of professional experience, Dr. Patricia H. Smith has cultivated a career of excellence as an educational, career, and employee development consultant.
