Antioch, CA JUANITA J. WHITE Juanita J. White leverages 30 years of professional experience as a proven expert in the field of family and community engagement. Since 2013, she has served as the director of family and community engagement at the AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School in Washington, DC. As a leader in the field, she specializes in developing positive relationships between students and families in the school network. Ms. White is also the founder of a social justice nonprofit, Connect & Serve, and an elder at her church, Family Life Worship Center. Prior to beginning her career, Ms. White pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism at Pace University in 1982. After embarking on her vocational journey, she subsequently achieved an MPA in nonprofit management leadership at Walden University in 2012. To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. White has been honored with several accolades, including an Outstanding Leadership Award at the Education 2.0 Conference in 2022. She attributes much of her success to the love and guidance of her parents. While proud of her many professional achievements, Ms. White is thankful to be a mother and a mentor to many. With more than 15 years of professional experience to her credit, Wilhelmenia Kay Wilson is a proven expert in nonprofit management. In 2021, she accepted the position of executive director of Healthy Black Families Inc., a nonprofit organization headquartered in Berkeley, California, dedicated to supporting and empowering Black individuals and families in their community. Prior to her current position, she was the principal consultant for the Center for Health Systems Improvement at Kaiser Permanente from 2015 to 2021. Ms. Wilson has also worked with such organizations as Pfizer Inc. and the Morehouse School of Medicine. Adjacent to her primary duties, Ms. Wilson remains active as an educator in her community, serving on the board of directors for public schools in her region. She pursued her own formal education as well, ultimately earning a master’s degree in leadership at Saint Mary’s College of California in 2014. Well-regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy and for her performance as a teacher, Ms. Wilson was previously honored as the Educator of the Year in Northern California.
