114 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Leveraging over three decades of professional experience, Dr. Marena Simmons Jones has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of education. Specializing in early childhood and elementary education, she founded Special Touch Education & Consulting Services in 1994, where she continues to serve as the chief education officer. The company utilizes over 80 years of combined experience on which to collaborate and deliver a wide variety of early learning programs for a vast array of students. Today, Dr. Simmons Jones oversees four separate academies under the Special Touch Education brand, alongside her sister and children. As part of her dedication to her profession, she remains active as a member of the Childcare Union. Adjacent to her primary endeavors as an educator, Dr. Simmons Jones is also the founder and head of the Marena’s Family Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to civic advocacy and youth education. Dr. Simmons Jones began her own formal education at Solano Community College, where she earned an associate degree in criminal justice law and corrections. She subsequently continued her studies at the American Intercontinental University and achieved both a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management and operations and a Master of Education in educational leadership and administration. She completed her academic career at the Pneuma Theological Seminary, where she achieved a PhD in religious education. Dr. Simmons Jones also holds a certificate in early childhood development. Well-regarded for her tireless commitment to her profession, Dr. Simmons Jones previously received Awards for Excellence from the Mayor’s Committee in Fairfield, California, in 2011 and 2012. In light of her fulfilling career, she largely attributes her success to her natural affinity for connecting with children. In the coming years, Dr. Simmons Jones hopes to open two more new locations for her business, which will allow her to further serve more communities in a positive manner.
