135 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Leveraging more than 40 years of excellence in aerial engineering, Mack McDermott has earned distinction as the leader of his own business. In this capacity, he is the founder, president and engineer for Sagebrush Cable Engineering. Since 2008, along with his new partners, he has focused his efforts on conducting aerial engineering, aerial inspection and underground permitting, including ACAD work for the company and leading all the aerial engineering aspects of the business. Prior to his current role, Mr. McDermott began his career working as an underground grunt and then construction supervisor in the cable television industry in 1978, working for Storer Cable TV in Thousand Oaks, California, in 1981. He was promoted to project manager for a new cable television system build in Loveland, Colorado, and assisted in the establishment of a similar system in Anaheim, California, and in Mesa, Arizona. He then worked in Houston, Texas, until taking a job with a contractor in Lake Arrowhead, California. Additionally, he is an accomplished athlete, playing professional baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals in Minor League Baseball until he sustained an injury. He also played in other areas nationally and internationally, including Washington, Alaska and Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Mr. McDermott has two children in the communications industry. Jillian Harvey is a western regional Fiber Optics design manager covering four U.S. states for Comcast. His son, Nicholas McDermott, is an aerial engineer for Sagebrush Cable Engineering. Within the coming years, Mr. McDermott intends to continue growing his business’ success, keeping his workers gainfully employed.
