He was instrumental in the Army’s rapid acquisition of the Raven RQ-11As sUAS and starting the Raven RQ-11B Program of Record. Mr. Poissant continued to pursue additional sUAS and equipped units with the TACMAV, Air Robot, Puma, Instant Eye and PD100 Black Hornet. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Poissant honorably served in the United States Army from 1990 to 2002, during which time he earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge during Operation Desert Storm, specializing in training and doctrine writing for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and teaching Combat Vehicle Identification (CVI). His CVI curriculum was sought out by the Army’s Night Vision and Electronic Sensor Directorate to assist in the development of Recognition of Combat Vehicles (ROCV), a thermal recognition program to help vehicle and aircraft crews how to identify threats from friendly vehicles on the battlefield. Mr. Poissant was also selected by the National Ground Intelligence Center to increase Army soldiers’ awareness of threat vehicle technologies and how to operate threat vehicles if commandeering one on the battlefield. Ultimately, Mr. Poissant left the army due to a medical discharge in 2002. Attributing much of his success to his drive, perseverance, determination and accountability, Mr. Poissant is especially proud of the impact he has had on the U.S.’s Warfighters. While his work schedule allows him a great deal of freedom, his consulting business continues to flourish by providing services to new technology upstarts looking to break into the Department of Defense.
