98 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Carla Arnold leverages four decades of experience as an expert in the field of education. For much of her career, she worked as an elementary school teacher with various school districts in the state of New Mexico, and she served as the school psychologist and manager for the Early Childhood Evaluation Program at the University of New Mexico. Since 2018, Ms. Arnold has served the Southwest Family Guidance Center & Institute as a consultant, where she provides trauma-informed, educational lectures for local schoolteachers through the Thriving Students Program. As part of her commitment to her profession, Ms. Arnold has remained affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the American Psychological Association. In her civic-minded endeavors, she previously held the position of president for the Division of Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Arnold cultivated her own formal education, beginning with her time at New Mexico State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 1975. She subsequently continued her studies at the University of New Mexico and achieved a Master of Arts in early childhood and special education in 1989. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Arnold has largely attributed her success to her intense passion for her work and her desire to become the best individual she can be. Furthermore, she is immensely grateful for the endless support of her family. In accounting for her accomplishments, she is especially proud to have managed several early intervention programs throughout the state of New Mexico and her extensive work at the University of New Mexico. Looking toward the future, Ms. Arnold hopes to continue expanding her practice with the Southwest Family Guidance Center & Institute.
