124 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Research and Development Corporation (FFRDC), commonly referred to as a “think tank,” which provides a vast array of services to numerous clients and customers in the governmental sector. Leveraging over two decades of active military service in communications, as well as research and development, Mr. Christensen served for more than 27 years at the MITRE Corporation, where he applied his technical and management expertise to several projects on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, many of which redounded to the benefit of the U.S. Army. Among these projects, Mr. Christensen provided management and technical expertise during the development of the Army’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) system, provided leadership for both the federal government’s security assistance program in support of the defense of Taiwan, and the U.S. Army Battle Command System (ABCS), and functioned as a test officer for various systems including an advanced communications system devised by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In Mr. Christensen’s experience, he has found that for projects to succeed, there needs to be an individual or individuals with a vision and passion to achieve the desired result. To that end, he affirms the idea of establishing goals and striving to do whatever it takes to execute the plan to achieve the vision and accomplish those goals while leading others in support of the overall mission. Mr. Christensen believes that embracing this philosophy is how leaders and visionaries can rise in their respective fields. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Christensen pursued a formal education. He began his collegiate career at Weber State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science With over five decades of professional experience to his credit, Duane G. Christensen has cultivated a career of excellence in the fields of project management, research and development (R&D), electronics, and engineering.
