He subsequently continued his studies at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he earned a Master of Business Administration. Prior to beginning his full-time career, Mr. Lesniewski intended to pursue a career in broadcast journalism, having several radio internships in Indianapolis and Washington, DC, and serving as a news director for his college radio station. He pivoted towards working with Mobil Chemical Co. after interviewing with professionals in upstate New York, which later became ExxonMobil following a merger in 1999. All along, he discovered how well his skills and education blended with the petrochemical industry. It ultimately proved to be the correct choice, as Mr. Lesniewski was able to cement his own professional longevity and cultivate a career of excellence. Drawing upon several decades of professional experience in the plastics and energy industry, Michael E. Lesniewski is a proven leader within his field. Now retired, he was previously an executive with ExxonMobil Corporation for much of his career. He specialized in plastics packaging and ultimately worked in various positions in marketing, venture management, new products/ market development and business planning for the organization. During his broad tenure with the company, Mr. Lesniewski played a pivotal role in the development of new products for new markets and services. One of his most notable contributions to the company was the commercialization of a white opaque plastic film as a paper replacement, which he subsequently helped to introduce to other divisions and companies in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Mr. Lesniewski truly made a name for himself within ExxonMobil, thanks to some additional work with next-generation performance-driven microporous films involved in the creation of lithium- ion batteries for small electronics, computers, cellphones and electric vehicles. He also continued to excel in international work, ultimately conducting business in over 70 countries before retiring in 2013. To this end, Mr. Lesniewski’s expertise allowed him to slowly become involved in some governmental and consulting affairs, as well. MICHAEL E.
