173 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE Jane E. Sheffield has 35 years of experience in financial editing and review and approval of securities analysts’ research reports. Prior to her recent retirement, she served as an executive director and supervisory analyst at Oppenheimer & Co. in New York from 1980 to 2019. She reviewed and approved for publication reports written by securities analysts, focusing on compliance with stock exchange regulations and clarity of writing. She previously was an executive director and supervisory analyst for CIBC World Markets, Inc., starting in 1980, where she also participated in the Research Review and Special Research Series committees. Ms. Sheffield began her career in 1977, working as an associate editor for Janeway Publishing and Research Corp. She later became a managing editor there from 1978 to 1980. Adjacent to her primary professional endeavors, she remained dedicated to civic advocacy, regularly volunteering with organizations such as New York Cares and the Center for Biological Diversity. Ms. Sheffield also worked extensively with local homeless shelters, where she helped prepare and provide meals for the homeless and those with HIV/AIDS. Ms. Sheffield’s education began at the University of Kansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1974. She continued her studies at the University of Cambridge in England, earning a Master of Arts in 1976. As a student, she remained an active member of Phi Betta Kappa and Kappa Alpha Theta. Ms. Sheffield combined her functions as a supervisory analyst and editor, especially as this practice became more commonplace in the industry.
