In addition, she underwent coursework in nonprofit leadership at Harvard Kennedy School and fashion law at the Fordham University School of Law. Well-regarded for her scholarly output, Ms. Griddine authored “Lessons from Successful African American Lawyers” in 2020. The same year, she also published the article, “If you aren’t finding diverse campaign staff, you’re not looking.” In her civic-minded pursuits, she has volunteered as a member of the board of directors of Porchlight Wellness and is co-chair of the board of trustees of the League of Minority Voters. Ms. Griddine has attributed her success to her sheer determination and relentless pursuit of higher learning and is particularly proud of being the first African American woman to serve as senior advisor for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Vanessa L. Griddine leverages over two decades of experience as a proven expert in the fields of public policy and government relations. She currently serves as the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the nonprofit social welfare organization is dedicated to educating future political leaders and inspiring communities to pursue positive action in the face of pressing social issues. In her role, she works with the corporate council to coordinate public policy work, as well as provide consulting to the United Nations and participate in the Global African Diaspora Initiative. Furthermore, Ms. Griddine founded Evolved Agenda Consulting, where she currently serves as the chief strategist. Previously, Ms. Griddine also served as a senior policy advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives, a senior presidential advisor with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the deputy chief of staff for Congressman Alcee Hastings, and the director of projects for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Before embarking on her vocational journey, she pursued a formal education at Columbia College, where she earned a BA in public affairs.
