Eade leverages several decades of professional experience as a worldrenowned chess master, tournament organizer and book publisher. In 2019, he founded The Eade Foundation, where he continues to serve as the chief executive officer. The foundation is well-regarded for promoting the game of chess as a tool for social good, providing resources such as chess sets and boards to underserved communities in the United States, South America, Africa and Asia. The foundation is known, as well, for assisting in the development of new, proficient chess players by teaching chess literacy and excellence. In addition to their other services, Mr. Eade’s organization offers a $1,000 donation for the best essay pertaining to chess. This donation is called the Arthur Award, named in honor of his late father, Arthur. Mr. Eade previously served as a trustee and president of the United States Chess Trust from 2000 to 2019. Similar to his own foundation, the United States Chess Trust remains dedicated to cultivating chess literacy in communities throughout the nation. Mr. Eade also operated as the president of various organizations, such as the Chess Journalists of America between 1995 and 1996 and CalChess, the Northern California Chess Federation, between 1994 and 1995. As part of his scholarly pursuits, Mr. Eade has authored and published several books pertaining to chess. His earliest publication, “Remember the MacCutcheon,” arrived in 1990 from Chess Enterprises. His other noteworthy books include “Chess for Dummies” in 1996, “The Chess Player’s Bible: Illustrated Strategies for Staying Ahead of the Game” in 2004, and “Chess Openings for Dummies” in 2010. Mr. Eade also looks forward to the publication of his forthcoming title, “Freedom: Your Path to Recovery,” in 2023. Adjacent to his primary vocational interests, Mr. Eade previously held the position of president of the American Zone for the World Chess Foundation from 2000 to 2002. Furthermore, he was a board member of the policy board for the United States Chess Federation (USCF) from 1996 to 1999.
