106 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine maintains her status as a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society for educators. Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the field, she was previously nominated for the New York Teacher Award. Outside of her duties as an educator, Ms. McIntosh continues to serve her community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly participating with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. McIntosh has largely attributed her success to her strong foundation and the belief that all children deserve the same respect. Furthermore, she is thankful for her understanding of herself, and she has been driven to succeed by her passion for having a positive impact on others. She is especially proud to have spent years teaching students in a classroom environment. In the coming years, Ms. McIntosh hopes to achieve a doctorate and engage in more academic research. Bolstered by 35 years of professional experience, Arlene M. McIntosh is a proven expert in the field of education. From 1986 to 2021, she served as an early childhood instructional coordinator for the New York City Department of Education. During this time, she also served as an early reading specialist for selected elementary schools located in School District 9 in the Bronx, New York, from 2003 to 2008. During her time as an educator, Ms. McIntosh dedicated herself to developing and implementing various academic programs for pre-kindergarten and early learning students. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. McIntosh cultivated her own formal education. While studying at Columbia University, she earned both a Master of Arts in psychology and a Master of Education in 1991. She subsequently continued her studies at the Bank Street College of Education and achieved a master’s degree in administration in 2001.
