THOMPSON Drawing upon more than four decades of professional experience, Steven T. Thompson is a proven expert in the field of education. Since beginning his career in 1983, he has specialized in teaching machining and computer numerical control (CNC) programming to high school students. Having worked with several schools and school districts in Illinois over the course of his career, he recently joined McHenry Community High School District 156 in 2021 as an instructor. As part of his dedication to his profession, Mr. Thompson also remains active as a member of Epsilon Pi Tau. Before beginning his career, Mr. Thompson cultivated his own formal education, earning a BA in industrial education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1983. He would later return to his alma mater and achieve an EdS degree in career and technical education and manufacturing in 2015. Outside of his primary interests, he remains active as a volunteer in his community, participating in manufacturing education programs at local schools. Attributing his success to his continued education, Mr. Thompson is particularly proud of his work teaching at Woodstock High School for 15 years. With 25 years of professional experience to her credit, Dr. Beth R. Wentworth is an expert in the field of education. She started teaching in higher education in 2004 at Chadron State College. She served as a full professor of mathematics at Chadron State College for 10 years. Since recently retiring, she has maintained the title of professor emeritus. Well-regarded for her dedication to her students, Dr. Wentworth was honored by the Nebraska State College System with a Teaching Excellence Award in 2020. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Wentworth pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and secondary mathematics at Minot State University and a master’s degree in teaching mathematics education and educational administration at Northern State University. After beginning her career in the field, she subsequently achieved a PhD in curriculum and instruction for mathematics education at the University of Minnesota in 2009. Dr. Wentworth is especially proud of her ability to learn and teach mathematics in many different ways. To this end, the curriculum for mathematics changed drastically throughout her years of teaching, and her adaptability proved to be instrumental to her success. BETH R. WENTWORTH, PHD
