156 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS With several decades of professional experience to her credit, Brenda M. Williams has cultivated a career of excellence as an educator and business owner. Since 2020, she has served as the chief executive officer of C.H. Vaughan’s Estates, a working farm that has remained in her family’s ownership since 1913. As the head of the estate, she oversees all daily operations, including raising animals such as goats and llamas, in addition to managing the extensive vineyard, orchard, greenhouses and honeybee hives. Ms. Williams previously served as a kindergarten through 12th grade teacher. During her time in the field of academics, she also worked extensively with the United States Department of Education, where she mentored fellow educators and coordinated services for students with disabilities. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Williams pursued her own formal education, ultimately earning a Master of Education in administration and supervision at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Ever committed to her professional endeavors, she also remains affiliated with several industryrelated organizations, including the FARMS organization in the state of South Dakota, the National Resource and Conservation Services and the Farm Service Agency. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Williams largely attributes her success to her dedicated work ethic. Having grown up on her family’s farm, taking ownership of the business came naturally to her, with the field of agriculture having always remained close to her heart. In accounting for her accomplishments, she is especially proud to have made a positive impact on the lives of children in her community. Looking toward the future, Ms. Williams intends to plant and produce approximately 2,700 new trees by 2024 and harvest another 27 acres on her property by 2029. Additionally, she hopes to assist in growing the population of ladybugs and butterflies in her region, so that they can help in cultivating more thriving farmlands.
