As part of her dedication to her professional interests, Dr. Turner maintains membership with several industry-related organizations, including the California Psychological Association, the California Association for Neurologically Handicapped Children, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Outside of her primary duties in the field of psychology, Dr. Turner remains active as a writer, painter and historical preservationist. In her creative endeavors, she previously delivered her presentation, “The Body Speaks,” at the Long Beach Convention Center in 1995. She also served as a contributing author for the 1995 publication, “Strategic Emotional Involvement,” which was authored by Dr. Lawrence E. Hedges. Additionally, Dr. Turner continues to participate within her community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly participating with The Dyslexia Foundation. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Turner pursued a formal education. Beginning her collegiate career at California State University, she initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in education, and later received a Master of Science in counseling and psychology in 1973. Afterward, Dr. Turner continued her studies at the California Graduate Institute of Clinical Psychology, where she achieved a PhD in clinical psychology in 1987. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. Turner holds several certifications pertinent to her industry, including a marriage family therapy license and certifications in bioenergetics analysis, family therapy, life counseling, and as a learning handicap specialist. Having always held a genuine curiosity about the nature of human life, Dr. Turner naturally gravitated towards a career as a psychologist. In light of her fulfilling career, she largely attributes her success to her innate curiosity, as well as the
