Outside of her primary duties in the field of psychology, Dr. Turner remains active as a writer, painter and historical preservationist. In her creative endeavors, she previously delivered her presentation, “The Body Speaks,” at the Long Beach Convention Center in 1995. She also served as a contributing author for the 1995 publication, “Strategic Emotional Involvement,” which was authored by Dr. Lawrence E. Hedges. Additionally, Dr. Turner continues to participate within her community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly participating with The Dyslexia Foundation. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Turner pursued a formal education. Beginning her collegiate career at California State University, she initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in education, and later received a Master of Science in counseling and psychology in 1973. Afterward, Dr. Turner continued her studies at the California Graduate Institute of Clinical Psychology, where she achieved a PhD in clinical psychology in 1987. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. Turner holds several certifications pertinent to her industry, including a marriage family therapy license and certifications in bioenergetics analysis, family therapy, life counseling, and as a learning handicap specialist. Having always held a genuine curiosity about the nature of human life, Dr. Turner naturally gravitated towards a career as a psychologist. In light of her fulfilling career, she largely attributes her success to her innate curiosity, as well as the
